Serrano de Trevélez Black Label Ham, with a Protected Geographical Indication certificate, a high-quality ham with more than 23 months of 100% natural curing at 1,250 meters of altitude in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.
No additives or preservatives, just ham and sea salt. Low in salt and gluten free. From a female white pig.
This ham has a black label, since it is cured for a minimum of 23 months in Juviles, Sierra Nevada, and is protected under the protected geographical indication Jamón de Trevélez.
As with all PGI-certified hams, it is cured 100% naturally and is obtained from pigs of the Landrace, Large-White and Duroc-Jersey breeds, or their corresponding crosses. The pigs from which this ham comes are fed with vegetable feed.
The fatty and soft meat is selected, and this ham from Aromas de Sierra Nevada comes from female white pigs, for maximum quality. Only sea salt is used, without preservatives or nitrifiers, and the special climatic conditions of the Alpujarra area do the rest.
This ham is also a unique product, a piece of history and tradition, since it was customary for the Royal House to stock up on the best artisan products, among which this ham was included.
In 1862, Queen Elizabeth II granted the “Crown Seal” to Trevélez Ham, endorsing its quality.
